Summer 2011 Workshops

Experience France this summer
under the guidance of master teachers

For more than two decades, SEYMOUR SIMMONS III has guided artists of all ages and experience in sketching and painting landscapes throughout France. His French-born wife, MARTINE SIMMONS, adds her flair to the experience, helping participants with French language, markets, and culinary adventures. Adding to the wealth of opportunities, photographer TERRY ROUECHE offers instruction in digital or film photography.

New this year are private early music mini-concerts by DAVID DOUGLASS and ELLEN HARGIS of THE NEWBERRY CONSORT.

SESSION I: June 29 – July 10 starts and ends in Paris, with 7 days in Normandy
SESSION II: July 10 – 21 starts and ends in Paris, with 7 days in the French Jura

NB Students should arrive in Paris at least one day before the session starts.

Academic or teacher certification credit for the workshop is available through enrollment at Winthrop University and must be arranged prior to departure — please contact Seymour Simmons for more information: simmonss at winthrop dot edu


Cost

ONE SESSION (11 days) : $2,300
BOTH SESSIONS (22 days) : $4,350
