Photography Class

Learn to better and more accurately capture the images you have always wanted to take. Wouldn’t it be great if you could get the best out of your camera and enjoy your photographic hobby to the fullest? Aspects of photography covered include photography theory, practical photography, technical and composition.

The course is open to either DIGITAL or FILM CAMERA users. We’ll determine the equipment needed for your interests prior to leaving and as well discuss your specific interest in photography to prepare a more personalized program.

You’ll learn the technical part of photography covering how the camera works: shutter speed, aperture, camera functions/settings, lens, filters, electronic flash, light meters and as well tips, techniques and more.

  • journalistic style photography

  • using photography accessories as a hand held flash, tripods, filters, etc.

TERRY ROUECHE Biography

Terry Roueche has been a commercial and art photographer since 1979. He is also an experienced portraiture and wedding photographer. From 1974 to 1979, he worked for several South Carolina newspapers as a general reporter and photographer.

He has taught photography at Winthrop University and Queens University in Charlotte, NC, York Technical College, the Museum of York County, and has offered private lessons, as well.

As a commercial photographer, he has worked with international, national, regional, and local accounts in all media. His work has appeared on numerous trade publication covers.

Beyond his commercial and studio portraiture experience, he has worked extensively creating a body of work in archival (large format) black & white film images, and digital images of South Carolina’s shore lines from lakes, rivers, ponds, and the coastal area. He also has created a body of work with abstract images.
